Crochet Cherry Applique pattern

I saw a lovely Cherry applique by Mamta in net while searching for a pattern but it's not a free pattern..  Inspired by that, i decided to give it a try and made it on my own..  They are simple and easy to make and you can add them to any crochet blankets, hats or clothing..

Pattern instruction:
Materials: small amount of acrylic yarn ( green and red).
2.5 mm hook ( use bigger or smaller hook for different sizes ).
Yarn needle.
For making leaves:
with green yarn, ch 8, *sc in second ch from the hook, hdc in the next ch, dc in next three ch, hdc in next ch, sc in the last ch*. without cutting the yarn, ch 8 again and repeat * * once and sl st to the nearby chain of first leaf. you'll get leaves like the one in below picture.
For making cherry (make 2):
With red yarn,
R1: 7 sc in magic ch and sl st to the first sc made in this row.
R2: 2 sc in each ch and sl st to the first sc made in this row.

For joining: sl st green yarn to one end of a cherry and chain 9 and sl st the end to the middle of leaves,  and chain 7 and sl stc the end to other cherry. fasten off and weave in the ends.
ch - chain.
sc - single crochet.
hdc - half double crochet.
dc - double crochet.
sl stc - slip stitch.

Do try them and tell me if you liked it..

My first ever Quilling!

Hi friends! hope you all are fine.. Though I've been into lot of crocheting lately, i do like to try something new for a change at times.. That's how i came across Quilling.. i was fascinated by this wonderful paper art and had a doubt if i could ever learn them..

Determined to give it a try, i was faced with some problems like a) I don't have any Quilling tool b) no quilling paper and c) not to mention, even a color sheet :(

But that's not a problem for a girl on mission right?  I patiently cut A4 sheets (the only paper that i had at home) into small strips and after looking at some quilling videos, i finally made one!

I painted the background with purple as it would make the white pop out compared to plain white
background... The difficult part was sticking them to the background surface.

I guess it's pretty okay for first time.. what do you think?

I heart it!

Hi everyone! I know the valentine's day is not anywhere nearby but i had this insane urge to make amigurumi heart after seeing so many lovely crochet hearts in pinterest...

The problem with me is when i make something i like, i just can't stop at one and have to make a bunch of them!

The pattern is available for free from Ami Amore

There are numerous possibilities what one can do with this heart.. I made a key chain from one of these.

This heart will make a great phone charm and decorative ornament.. so go ahead, make it and show your love to your loved ones by gifting lovely hearts:)

Amigurumi Bumblebee

Hola, Amigos! I'm back with another Amigurumi project.. yup can't resist making more of them..
This time i made a small bumblebee.. It's a free pattern from Mohu.. A very simple and quick project and i really enjoyed doing it..

Hope you like my mini bumblebees.. Have fun making Amigurumis.. Take care, adios!

Amigurumi Panda

Who doesn't love pandas??? They are sweet, adorable and with their eyes so enchanting, it's hard not to like them.. so as my next arigurumi project, i decided to make a soft, cuddly panda :)

I made use of two patterns Amigurumei and Make craft and incorporated them to my like..

I want my panda to have a cute smiling eyes and i hope i achieved the result..

Gonna make some more to give away as gifts.. so what do you think? do you like my panda?

Floral wall art

I guess most of you would've seen wall art in houses and there are tons of lovely wall art ideas in the net..
seeing them inspired me to make one for my own wall..

At first, i selected a floral pattern then cut paper in desired shape and painted them..  at last, i sticked them to the wall using tape (and gluestick when needed)..

I stick with two colors but you can make it more colorful..i cut the sides of flower petals and stick only the center part to give them a three dimensional look..

so if you have a wall that needs decor, just grab your paint brush, paper and start working!

Crochet flower bag

Everyone who read my blog would've known by now that i love crochet bags.. eventhough i'm not yet in the stage to create my own pattern, i do love to recreate the lovely patterns that are available from web..

So here's my take on Meladora's flower purse

The pattern is available for free at Meladora's creations

I also managed to sew lining to the bag using Futuregirl craft tutorial

Though the bag is small, it took me longer than any other project to complete.. it's a long process making the flowers and connecting them.. so be patience while making this because the end result is totally worth it!

Ozzy the octopus

My love for amigurumi continues and this time i made a cutesy small octopus Ozzy...

Made this octopus with the pattern from Esshaych
I also added a little red hat to make him pretty! what i love about Ozzy is that he's got lovely tentacles..

will be back soon with a new post.. happy day everyone!

Tubby the whale (Amigurumi)

I have to admit i never thought making amigurumi would be so much fun and addicting.. these dolls are overloaded with cuteness that i ended up bookmarking loads of patterns to try..

As i'm new to this amigurumi, i was looking for some small but cute patterns to try and that's how i came across this lovely whale video tutorial by Lanas y ovillos
So meet my new whale Tubby:)

I also added two little fins to make him more adorable.

Hope you like him too.. see you soon with a new project.. ciao!

Amigurumi love

Hi everyone! I know it's been a long time since i posted anything..  some important things kept me busy and away from crocheting.. but recently i came across some cute Amigurumi patterns in the web and i just couldn't resist trying them..

Armed with crochet hook and battling with the yarn, i somehow managed to finish my first ever Amigurumi! yay!!

made this cute Kitty from this YouTube video.. now.. what shall i name her???

see you all with a new project soon.. have a wonderful day!

And then there were none...

While i was waiting for my flight to Sharjah in Trivandrum airport, i got so bored and started checking out the book stall nearby.. Book shops always makes me so happy and there were lots of books to choose..
I love historical romance novels and most of the books in that section were the one that i read already.. so i decided to try a different genre and pick this..

'And then there were none' by Agatha Christie

I've heard a lot about Agatha Christie but this is my first book that i read of her.. I must admit i totally loved this murder mystery novel..
The story is about ten people who were invited to a lonely island only to find out their host is not there.. One by one, each of them were killed and the killer is one of them.. It's so hard to guess who the suspect is.. Brilliant work by Agatha Christie and I recommend it to anyone who loves mystery novels.. Happy reading!

A gift to remember!

Look what my brother presented me with when i was back home India for vacation!

The alchemist by Paulo Coelho... I was into half of it already in my ebook when he gave this book..
An inspiring book about following your dreams..
Here are some of the quotes  that i loved from this book..

“Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.”
“When each day is the same as the next, it’s because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises.”
“The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”
“Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.”

Although i read mostly ebooks nowadays which is convenient, they're nothing compared to the feel of holding a real book in hand!

Crochet cell phone case

My mobile phone had withstood all kinda rough treatment by me and i can't even keep count of how many times I've dropped it.. so i decided to treat it well and make a phone case for it :)

The pattern is by crochet geek .. this is the first time i tried star stitch and totally loved it.. hoping to make other projects too using this stitch..
See you all soon with a new post.. have a great day!

Bubbly bobble clutch

Seems like my obsession with bobble stitch isn’t over yet... inspired by Raspberry bag, I decided to make some clutches too..

An easy and quick project that takes only a couple of hours.. making this clutch is so addicting that i ended up doing three more :)

Do let me know which one you like the most
see you all with a new post soon.. happy crocheting!!

Expressing through embroidery

Did I tell you that I love to embroider as much as crocheting??

Had some leftover embroidery threads and a new plain terry hand cloth.. so I thought, why not embroider it? and here is the outcome.

I embroidered  the name with satin stitch and used  bullion and lacy daisy for the flowers..saw a cute puppy pattern here and decided to add it as it was a gift to my friend’s adorable kid of 18 months..
hope you all like it.. will see you soon with a new post. happy crafting!
